Steps to Graduation for Graduate Students

Step 1:  Verify that the University has your correct semester & permanent address.

  • You can verify your name and address of record at Circle Park Online (CPO)
    or by visiting the Office of the University Registrar at 209 Student Services Building.
  • On your graduation application, you are given the option to pick up your diploma or have it mailed. If you choose to have your diploma mailed to your, it will be sent to the permanent address that the University has on record for you, unless otherwise specified.
  • Important information regarding your graduation (information related to the Commencement Ceremony, Graduate Hooding, and degree requirements) is sent to your semester address.
  • Unless otherwise specified, the name on your diploma will be the name that the University has on record for you.
  • If either your address or name changes after you have applied for graduation, be sure to contact the Graduation Office as well as change your record with the University (see instructions above).
  • Privacy Status and Commencement. The names of the some privacy students will not be included in the Commencement Program. If you are a privacy student and would like to be included, please contact Student Data Resources in person, immediately, 209 Student Services Building, (865) 974-2108 registrar@utk.edu to find out if this applies to you.
