  1. Students whose native language is not English may complete the foreign language requirement found in many transition guides by completing the English Composition requirement and any two-course literature sequence.
  2. Grades earned at other colleges and universities are used only for admission, course placement, and other academic decisions at UT Knoxville. Although grades earned at other colleges and universities are not included in the UT Knoxville GPA, many UT Knoxville programs require a grade of “C” or higher in certain courses – including freshman composition.
