When veteran applies for benefits, the VA will send veteran a Certificate of Eligibility which will list the percentage of benefit for which they are entitled. A copy of this letter MUST be submitted to the school’s certifying official.
Veterans will generally receive 36 months of entitlement. However, if under Chapter 1607 & switch to Chapter 33, they will receive 48 months.
-
When switching from Chapter 30 to Chapter 33, add 5 years to 10 year delimiting date which gives you 15 years to use your benefits.
-
If veteran is using Chapter 30 and switches to Chapter 33, they are still limited to the amount of time remaining under Chapter 30 entitlement.
